Love this Gail. I'm 66 and reinventing myself again! Actually, it's been more of a peeling off of the layers of patriarchy and colonialism I was brainwashed with. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. What a relief it has been! From someone who was always told I was too sensitive, too bold, too loud, too - fill in the blank! I'm walking to the beat of my own drum now!
OMG you’re speaking to exactly what I’ve started talking about in my messaging, peeling away the layers. It’s like an orange and you peel away the layers to get to the juiciness.
Inspirational! Thanks so much to Gail for reminding us that we should be brave, loud and too much! And go forward to give this world what we've got and what it needs. Wonderful article! Yayyyyy, Gail!
I am not buying this AT ALL. Strength comes from honoring commitments. Most people, at 50, are still responsible for parents, children, others. It’s a sign of being part of the human race! Show me a person who gets to do whatever the hell makes them HAPPY, and I’ll show you a person with nothing to live for. Following your bliss is good in the short run, but not a recipe for a satisfying life.
Well done, Gail. I'm 81 and have reinvented myself ... let me count the ways: 7 careers, five states, three countries, and now embracing Substack as a way to share my life lessons on getting unstuck, reinventing (whether we wanted to or not), and finding the path that gives us passion and joy. I love your spunk. Your honesty and, most of all, your photos. You go, girl. Blue

Brilliant, I LOVE this! I am too much, too different, too way ahead of everyone else, and I celebrate that!
