THE SPELL – the story of my fear in the dark and how, one midsummer night, it went

I started to write ‘I had a fear of the dark’ but that phrase (that I have always used) suddenly seems inaccurate. So now this is how I feel I must describe it. ‘I experienced fears that arose when I was in dark places at night. I had fears in the dark.’
