Good to see these furious grandmothers are singing a furious version of House of The Rising Sun and demanding answers over the Jeffrey Epstein ranch obfuscation. From Music Man - ‘Wrapped in shawls, floral aprons, and extravagant hats, they look just like quintessential, harmless grandmothers. Yet behind that comforting image, the Santa Fe Raging Grannies are delivering some of the sharpest political satire on the internet.’

Good on 56 year old Maura Jackson who went on Ch 4’s Naked Education to talk about the menopause. ‘I wanted to go on TV and show it’s what we do and say that counts, not what we look like. The episode aired in early May this year. I was with two other women and we sat and discussed where we each were in the menopause, symptoms, what we’d heard about it from other people, what it felt like and the impact on our bodies.
I was a bit nervous to go on it. I’d made clear I wasn’t going to be naked, I was going to be in underwear – and they were alright with that. I didn’t know if I was going to be meeting ladies in the nude or in underwear. But when we got out there, all three of us were in underwear – one of them was in Spanx.
I brought my cheeky sense of humour into it and think this helped to put the other two ladies at ease as they laughed, sharing stories and funny experiences, rather than taking themselves too seriously – even though the message was a serious one.’ Huffington Post
Sometimes what people are doing at incredible ages - is too hard to ignore! Look at Susan Young Browne at 108, still driving and going to the gym!! ‘At 108, Susan Young Browne still handles a routine that would be notable at any age: she drives herself around Dover, Delaware, and attends group exercise classes three times a week. Born on April 24, 1918, Browne recently renewed her driver’s license through 2033. She has also maintained a morning exercise routine for roughly 20 years, often beginning the day with movements performed on the floor at home. She also continues to live independently in her own home.
Her long life reaches back to a very different Delaware. Browne was born in Lincoln and grew up on a farm between Houston and Milford, where her family lived without electricity or running water. She attended segregated schools, including a one-room school in Houston, before pursuing the education she wanted. In 1945, she graduated from the State College for Colored Students, now Delaware State University, with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.’

That is Debbie Golt and she plus all the rest of the female crew - all linked through the legendary Vinyl Sisters that play at the Ritzy in Brixton every third Wednesday of the month. Get your dancing shoes and go down to Harlesden.
This piece in the Guardian about clearing your parents’ houses caused a lot of emotional responses and reflections. I was so glad that I cleared my mum’s house with a team of family members plus our partners… it made it easier.
